RAMONA, San Diego County — San Diego County has published a detailed environmental-review record for a proposed 101-room boutique hotel in Ramona, raising questions about development, traffic, landscaping and the community’s village-center character.
The Ramona Boutique Hotel application describes a two-story building on approximately 3.3 acres, combining three existing parcels into one. Its proposed uses include a lobby, breakfast area, meeting/event space, guest laundry, fitness room, outdoor courtyard, swimming pool and other guest facilities.
How much parking and local employment?
County documents describe 102 parking spaces, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and bicycle parking. The applicant anticipates approximately 18 employees, although that is an estimate for a proposal, not a confirmed hiring announcement. Access is planned from Main Street/State Route 67, with no proposed vehicle driveway from Vermont Street.
The county also describes a proposed 10-foot-wide decomposed-granite trail along the Main Street frontage, with landscaping intended to avoid disturbing historic eucalyptus trees.
What happens next?
The official county public-review window ran from September 3 to October 5, 2026. That deadline has already passed. The existence of a site plan and environmental document does not mean a building permit has been issued or construction has started. Residents seeking a current decision should check the case file under PDS2023-STP-23-021 and contact county Planning & Development Services.
